The Duke of Edinburgh's Hillary Award

Christchurch Netball Centre’s purpose is to boldly lead the growth of a flexible and inclusive Netball Centre, fostering a culture of fun, development, aspiration, and success.

We can provide opportunities for participants of the Award to achieve success and complete their activities. We can provide opportunities for young people to learn about leadership, develop their leadership skills, and grow into young leaders in their netball centre, school, and community.

The Award framework

The Award is comprised of three levels and four sections - Skills, Voluntary Service, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journey. Participants complete all four sections at each level in order to achieve their Award. At Gold level, participants also complete a Residential Project.

Netball New Zealand Netball Leaders Programme

Netball Leaders uses Netball as a vehicle for young people to learn about leadership, develop their leadership skills, and grow into young leaders in their netball centre, school, and community through alignment with the NNZ Leadership Programme.
