What a week it has been in netball with the historic Cadbury Netball series including the Silver Ferns and NZ Men's Invitational team – has certainly made headlines near and far.
We wish all teams a restful July holiday break prior leading into the Championship Round 3. In Premier League netball Challenge Round 2 is now complete and Shield winners have been decided. Congratulations to Technical A, winners of the Premier 1 Brenda Condon Challenge Shield and UC A, winners of the Premier 2 New World Challenge Shield.
Junior teams are reminded that they have two weeks break from games during the school holidays. These dates are confirmed below.
With the school holidays just around the corner, CNC has some great programmes for all age groups including the popular Netball Carnival with HeadStart Netball. All programmes are indoors at Bishopdale YMCA. See below for details.
Over the two week of school holidays CNC Age Group representative teams will be competing at Nationals, the Under 19s in Invercargill and both Under 17 teams are in Auckland. We wish all teams and CNC appointed umpires all the very best for their games and will be watching for results with interest on a regular basis.
For those of you in Christchurch 8 – 10 July, you might like to get on down to the Hagley Courts and support teams in the South Island Secondary Schools Year 9/10 tournament – a great tournament of talented players from over 80 school teams proudly representing their school in this tournament.
And finally congratulations to Jenny Hickson who was the inaugural winner of the Club Volunteer Award (Cashmere Cup) for 2019 as part of National Volunteers Week. Jenny was presented with the cup last weekend in the presence of members of her Club and team – a very fitting winner. Thank you to the Clubs who value their volunteers and nominated them for this Award – some great work being done out there in Netball-Club-land..
