Kia ora Koutou
Please find included below the latest Netball New Zealand community newsletter.
It provides information on what NNZ and the Zones are doing to provide opportunities for our community during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the sharing of stories.
Access it now here: Click here.
We understand there is confusion with the various communications and media announcements around sport being delivered in the community and that this has caused a lot of anxiety and questions.
Please know that CNC will update you as soon as is practicable when Netball NZ provide us with information as it becomes available. It is important to know that a lot of discussions/agreements and negotiations are going on at higher levels including Government how community sport can best be provided to our players and still meet all the requirements for health and safety under Covid-19 Level 2.
CNC will be guided by Netball NZ’s recommendations on preparing to play (training and physical activities) and a return to any competition in the future.
The staff at CNC are currently working through planning and preparation to return to their own work environment, they have also been planning on how to support everyone to prepare to play (training and activities with all the distancing requirements) and then the bigger piece of work will be actually preparing to return to some type of netball activities – not necessarily the same as we have had in the past – we need to be flexible and accepting that changes will need to be made about court spaces, social distancing, numbers of people, entry and exit to the courts etc. We will not rush these steps in the interests of maintaining a safe and healthy environment for active participation for all.
What we do currently know is that netball at a professional level returns on Friday 19 June.
As we were about to press 'send' on this newsletter, the latest communication from NNZ to Centres arrived. This is included as an attachment below and provides further advice on arrangements at Level 2.
Please continue to watch this space each week as we continue to forward the latest information.
Meantime stay safe and well, and enjoy the slightly more relaxed way of life in Level 2.
