What to expect this weekend | Parking
This is an important ALERT for our netball community and beyond - please share widely📣 This Saturday 4 May, Saturday winter sport at Ngā Puna Wai means that this will be a busy and exciting place, with rugby league, netball and many enthusiastic supporters 🤩 The Ngā Puna Wai car parks are available for all users of the Sports Hub, and users of the Reserve. Out of respect for our neighbours,
DO NOT park on the local streets 🚫 You can access the Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub via bus services, cycle paths, vans and private cars. Remember: It's cool to carpool 🌍🚗
Christchurch City Council has increased the number of available car parks at Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub to over 900 spaces 🔴⚪⚫
Bus services are available on Lincoln Road 🚌
Bike paths connect the Sports Hub across the city, with plenty of bike parking available around the Sports Hub 🚲
There is a 10km speed limit onsite and pedestrians have right of way 🚦
All parking MUST be in a marked carpark, any vehicles parked on the grass, or in a marked no-parking area risk being ticketed or towed 😢
Let's work together to minimise the impact on the neighbourhood and make this a great day out for everyone. Your sport has more details on how to make the day a win-win 🚗🚌🚲🌍😎

Where can we watch the games?
This is one of the most frequently asked, and important questions about the new season indoors. Please respect the seated spectator zone in front of the glass on the mezzanine floor. - The carpet area next to the glass is designed for seating, particularly wheelchairs and children seated on the floor.
- People of all ages are welcome to sit on the floor in front of the glass.
- When people stand 1m from the glass, it allows space and visibility of the courts for supporters in wheelchairs and people, particularly children, who are seated on the carpet.
Please stand 1m from the glass. Never touch or lean on the glass.
⚪Supporters can sit in the red and black seats along the Centre wall Courts 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and10 have red and black seating, so spectators can sit there, or stand against the wall that these seats are attached to. Court 2 – At this stage, standing is available on the opposite side of the court to the team benches – in a single straight line against the backs of the team benches on Court 3. Court 5 - At this stage, standing is available on the opposite side of the court to the team benches – in a single straight line against the backs of the team benches on Court 4. ⚫Supporters can share positive messages that lift the mana of participants and umpires 🚫Please do not stand on the team sideline or at the end of the courts We appreciate this is a change. We look forward to the way this will "Give them space" - in this new space! This allows game officials, coaches and participants the space to play and manage the game 😎 Please e-mail comms@cnc.org.nz with any questions or specific seating queries and requirements related to mobility. We're listening. The Freemasons New Zealand Spirit Fairy will be back in action, looking for shining examples of outstanding Christchurch Netball supporters ⭐️ |

Where can we warm up?
Warm up space is limited. Please be respectful of others in the limited space. Warm up on your allocated game court is limited to 10 minutes prior to your game starting.
Running can be done around the outside of the building.
Warm up in the car park areas are prohibited for safety and to avoid damage to property.
To help provide a positive experience for everyone, teams ideally should leave team benches immediately after their game has finished and avoid lingering courtside when possible.
Teams moving onto team benches, please be respectful of the teams prior, and allow them time to remove themselves from the team bench area. |

Hagley Park | Community Netball Guidelines To help our community make the most of the 2024 Season at Hagley Park, here are details around community use of the Atrium building. This building beside the netball courts is no longer the home of Christchurch Netball Centre, but a new multicultural facility owned by Christchurch City Council.
The ground floor of the Atrium building will remain an inclusive space, accessible to everyone in the community. This includes netball community members. Some community organisations will be actively fundraising by providing food options to our netball community as well as the wider community.
This arrangement will allow the CNC community to have access to purchase refreshments, a warm place to prepare and relax after games, as well as the toilets on the ground floor. |

Physio service | Seeking your feedback
Health and Sport Central is providing a trial physio service for the members of Christchurch Netball Centre at Ngā Puna Wai every Saturday, as well as Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday evenings.
They will establish these days and hours if there is evidence of demand for their physio service from CNC members. The location is: 🌙Weeknights | Physio room (you can see this straight ahead, as you walk in front doors) ☀️Weekend | Meeting room number one, on your left as you walk past reception The six-physio team is available for injury assessment, management, game day strapping and general advice. A Podiatrist joins the team late morning on Saturdays as well. Be cool and play by the rules. When you are playing, volunteering or supporting, whether you are at Ngā Puna Wai, Wilding Park, Hagley Park or Rāwhiti Domain...here’s how you can help prepare for the new season. 1. Manaakitanga | Caring for people and place 🥰 2. Kaitiakitanga | Being guardians of our new home for future generations 🏡 3. Whanaungatanga | Making sure our netball environments lift the mana of our members 🙌 Best practice at the new indoor facility includes: Only water (no other food and liquid on the courts) 🚫 Only soft soled shoes on the courts 👟 If there is a spill on the courts, please wipe it up immediately 💦 And, most importantly, be mindful on the mezzanine. Please never touch or lean against the glass 🙏 (The clear area in front of the glass is designed to keep clear as a seating area for wheelchairs and people of all ages who wish to sit on the carpet, so spectators have a view through the glass) 👀 Make yourself at home | Haere mai 😎 |
