Venue Information
- The 2024 CNC Rainbow Tournament – brought to you by Cameron & Co, is being held at the Hagley Netball Courts, 455 Hagley Avenue, Christchurch.
- The Multicultural Centre (formerly the Christchurch Netball Centre Atrium building) is not available for team use. There are council toilet facilities outside the building for teams to use.
- A sausage sizzle will be running ($2.50 per sausage), water will be available, and there will be coffee carts and food vendors onsite.
- Teams may bring a gazebo to set up an area to use between games. All courts are being used so these will need to be set-up on the grass areas.
Postponement
- A postponement decision will be made by 7am Sunday morning and notified on the CNC Facebook page.
- The postponement date for the tournament is Sunday 11th August.
- If by 7am no cancellations are posted, the event is on.
On Arrival
- Teams should report to the CNC Tournament Office on arrival to check in.
- This is located at the west end of the Multicultural Centre near the public toilets.
- Rainbow scorecards will be available for collection from the tournament office.
Game Information
- There will be a mass warm-up at on Centre Court, timings are at the top of this email.
- This is a round robin tournament, and all teams play 6 mini games.
- Year 3-6 games are 2 x 8min halves with a 2min break at halftime.
- Year 7-8 games are 2x 10min halves with a 2min break at halftime.
- There are 20 min breaks between games and a longer lunch break.
- Rainbow scorecards should be returned at the end of the day and exchanged for coloured wristbands for the team.
- Instructions on how to use the Rainbow Scorecards will be given when teams check in at the office.
- Teams are required to provide an umpire to umpire their team games for the day (please note that fair and friendly umpiring is a requirement).
- The draw is currently under construction and will be released by end of day today.
Other Information
- Prizegiving will occur at the end of the tournament 1.45pm for Year 3-6 teams and 2.10pm for Year 7-8 teams.
- Prizes will be awarded for Highest Level of the Rainbow in each grade, Best Dressed Team and Runners Up in each grade.
- There will also be prizes for Best Dressed Coach, spot prizes for supporters and a quiz running over the day.
- A raffle will be running during the tournament. Tickets are $2 each. Please encourage your supporters to have some cash on them to buy a ticket. Online bank transfer is available for those buying 5 tickets or more. First Prize is a Portable Netball Hoop and balls, Second Prize is a small Gear Bag with Bibs, Balls and Drink Bottle and Third Prize is a Cookie Time Gift Basket.
- There is no car-parking onsite, except for those with a current Mobility Parking Pass. Please arrive with enough time to look for a carpark.
