Background
Finding a new home for netball began almost immediately after the earthquakes when Christchurch Netball attracted a $10 million offer from a private benefactor toward the establishment of a new purpose built indoor netball facility.
Christchurch City Council worked with Netsal Sports Limited to find an appropriate site.
The Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub was identified as a potential home for the new facility and has since been confirmed as the recommended location by the Christchurch City Council through a process of consulation and submissions.
