We are deeply saddened by the news of the loss of Damon Ruki.
Damon was a respected umpire, umpire coach and with wife Corrina the backbone of the Kia Toa Netball Club. Damon was always keen to help with any events requiring assistance, including the inaugural Tu Manawa Multi Sport Days.
Damon was also presented with a CNC Volunteer Award in 2017.
A moment's silence was held at 9.59am this morning prior to 10am games at the Centre. A number of teams also wore black arm bands in his honour.
Our aroha and sincere condolences go out to Corrina, Manawa and whānau and the Kia Toa Netball Club.
We stand as a community together united in grief of his passing.
Damon will be greatly missed by us all.
