St Margaret's College has finished runners up at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships in Porirua after a hard fought game against Hamilton Girls 33-24.

Throughout the tournament the team had strong wins against Queen Margaret College, Howick College, St Andrew's College, Trident High School, St Peter's Cambridge and Avondale College and represented the South Island and our Centre with pride.

The team is coached by Helen Belcher and Julie Seymour.

In final play off games for our other Christchurch teams, Christchurch Girls High School finished in 15th (CGHS 44 Napier Girls 33) and St Andrew's College finished 12th (StAC 29 Hastings Girls 34).

Two of our Christchurch bench officials were appointed to the 1/2 final, Margaret Western and Tania Rule. The full complement of game officials also included our umpires Vicki Harrington and Kate Fraser.
