Local Legends Lead Team Effort

Anna Galvan and Lesley Murdoch are true champions for the value of sport to the wellbeing of rangatahi.

For this reason, Anna and Lesley are leading our Team Effort - and inviting you to join us too. It's an opportunity to make sure sport is accessible to all - to make sure no one misses out.

The Team Effort campaign invites the community to give generously on three levels: community giving (merch for teammates), major donors (celebrating whānau and local businesses) and corporate partners (court sponsorship).

Those giving greater than $50 before 31 March 2024 will receive a First Team commemorative pin to mark the inaugural season.

In her role as Board Chair of Christchurch Netball Centre, Anna has taken responsibility for the build and operations of community sport's brand new home at Ngā Puna Wai.Alongside CNC board member Warren Poh, Anna has led the project based on creating an inclusive, welcoming environment.

The former Silver Fern and her netball community are now calling on clubs and teams from across Ōtautahi to join the team effort.

"Together we can continue to make sport accessible for all," Anna points out. Christchurch Netball has been incredibly grateful for the critical support of New Zealand Community Trust, Rātā Foundation, Pub Charity, Lotteries and Freemasons New Zealand, she adds.

The 10,000 square metre site in the southwest of the city is already home to not only netball, but korfball (Mixx.nz), volleyball, futsal and gymnastics.
