CFC Netballer reaches major milestone

There was a very significant milestone reached by CFC Netballer, Lynette O'Neill on Saturday at the Hagley Netball courts. An excerpt from the presentation to her on Saturday by her Club explains.

'On Saturday we celebrated a massive milestone for CFC netball – Lynette O’Neill is the first person in our club to play both 300 games for the club and also 24 years’ service for the club.

This is a netball career which started for CFC in 1993.This is a fabulous achievement and one we are very honoured to be a part of.

During the 300 games she has played in teams lettered between B and H and made a few cameo appearances – she says on centre court for the A team, she has also been on the netball committee, served as Club Captain, and has been a very well respected coach.

As a player Lynette has a very unique shooting style – one that probably won’t be replicated again – after all this time she still shoots one handed, has never practiced and after 300 games reckons she doesn’t need to jump for balls anymore! This however hasn’t stopped her being a part of numerous grade titles and has also had a successful career.'

Lynette, from your Club and Christchurch Netball Centre, we congratulate you on such a significant achievement!
