We asked Kereru A coach Riki Clark his thoughts on the upcoming Premier 1 semi final between his side and Lincoln University A
CNC: What do you expect from the game this week?
Kereru are aiming to have composure on attack with a special focus on a full court defensive effort to create turnovers.
CNC: How are you going to prepare for this game?
Nothing at training will change other than the refining of structures and an increased sense of intensity within the training environment!
CNC: What are the key match ups?
I think through all 3 areas of the court we are facing a tough battle. Obviously Ellie Bird poses a problem with her height and accuracy under the post. Her and Jen Nao'upu will be having the game of their lives come tuesday! Juliana and Erin are wonderful options for us so Lincoln defence will need to figure out a way to stop the craftiness of this dynamic duo. We expect Charlotte to come on at either wing defence or centre and are confident that any of our mid court attacks will be able to keep her guessing and having to guess what it is that we are implementing out on court.
CNC: What will it take to win?
Mental Toughness
Do or Die attitudes
Go hard or go home!
