Scoring tips!


Ever wanted to learn the secrets of who has the Centre pass, and what's this about odds and evens?

Well here's how!

The easiest way to remember who has the centre pass is to hold your whistle (or a hair tie around your wrist) in the hand of the side that has the next centre pass, ie: hold your whistle in your right hand if the team on “your” side of the court has the next centre pass and vice versa.

The scorers should cross off each number as a goal is scored.

Examples

At 3 – 9 the next Centre Pass will be taken by Team A

At 12-11 the next Centre pass will be taken Team B

At an Interval (quarter or half time)

If the ball is in play when the umpires whistle blows, then change the Evens & Odds over. (ie. Team B will become Even). Do this immediately so there is no confusion.

Through the next quarter the same procedure applies as for the previous quarter.

If the ball is not in play, ie. A goal has just been scored and the Centre Pass not taken the Evens and Odds stay the same as in the previous quarter – there is no change.

Concentration is vital

Every goal counts so ask your scorers to indicate to you that they have seen you signal a goal. There is no whistle when a goal is scored.

If you have disallowed a goal because of an infringement be sure that the scorers have noticed this.
