Jenny Hickson wins inaugural Cashmere Cup for National Volunteers Week

The Cashmere Cup awarded in recognition of National Volunteers Week has been won by Jenny Hickson from the Cashmere Netball Club. The Cup was donated by Wayne Hawker for the Club Volunteer Award and presented during National Volunteer Week.

Jen has been on the Committee for the past 4 years and has been given the role of Grants Co-ordinator, She is amazing at this and has successfully applied and been granted some amazing grants that have gone towards new uniforms, new equipment, new coaches bags etc.

Jen has also taken on the not so popular role of fee collecting - one that sees her up late at night emailing and reminding members to pay their fees that we have we are now at 100% of our members being financial.

Jen has also been a huge help to Mikala Whitteker as she took on the role of Secretary this year - she helped familiarise Mikala with Sporty, set up a better system for ordering the clubs hoodies, and was go for anything else that needed help with. Jen is in the process of updating and publishing Cashmere's club policies and is championing a draft of Player and Coach Codes of Conduct.

Jen is always the first to volunteer her time to help at club activities - the CNC bbq, Trials, Uniform issue and Club day and tournaments all while being a mum to two daughters that play netball for Cashmere club and her full time day job in a busy accountancy firm. She also has a wicked sense of humour!!

Congratulations Jen!! A thoroughly well deserved award.
