Another huge winter season has wrapped up for Christchurch Netball, with plenty to celebrate across the game in Ōtautahi.
For the fourth year in a row, team numbers increased, with 561 teams taking part in Christchurch Netball competitions during the 2026 season.
This year also marked the first time Christchurch Netball delivered competitions across five venues, reflecting the continued growth of the game and the scale of netball happening across our community each week.
A huge congratulations to Kereru A, our 2026 Premier 1 champions, who finished the season at the top of Christchurch Netball’s premier competition.

There was plenty to celebrate beyond the scoreboard too.
Our Rainbow Tournament brought a record 120 junior teams to the Hagley Netball Courts, creating an explosion of colour and another fantastic highlight in a season full of energy and growth.
In our first season of launching the Centre Pass Fund we provided financial support for 83 players, enabling them to take the court.
The 2026 Christchurch Netball Centre Awards also recognised the outstanding contribution and achievements of people across our game, including coaches, umpires, bench officials, volunteers, administrators and others who continue to make a difference across our netball community.

A season of this size simply would not be possible without the huge number of people who give their time, energy and support to the game.
A massive thank you to our players, coaches, managers, umpires, bench officials, umpire coaches, Whistlers, volunteers, club and school administrators, whānau, supporters, partners, staff and everyone working behind the scenes to make netball happen each week.
We are incredibly proud of what our Christchurch Netball community has achieved in 2026 and excited to keep building on that momentum into 2027.
Thank you Christchurch, for another incredible winter season.
