Premier League netball competition in Christchurch is now just days away. Indoor Premier Competition takes centre stage from Tuesday, 21 April.

Week one of competition sees top ranked school team St Margaret’s up against 2014 runners up Lincoln University. St Margaret’s is currently contesting College Netball competition, and will contest their Round 3 College Netball game the day prior. Lincoln University boasts ANZ Championship players Hayley Saunders (Tactix) and Jane Watson (Steel) and have recruited former St Andrews’ star Charlotte Elley and St Margarets’ Lilly Fletcher.

Reigning 2014 Premiers Kereru will come up against St Nicholas, whilst newly amalgamated ‘Saints’ (Hearts St Peters) will meet Technical. Technical look strong spearheaded by Tactix players Gemma Hazeldine and Louise Thayer and who have secured former St Margarets’ shooter Jess Prosser and St Andrews’ shooter Natalie Allen.

In Premier 2 competition, top seeds and Netball Mainland Super Club competition runners up Halswell A will meet Premier 2 debutants St Andrew’s College. This will likely be a battle of the two talls with Halswell’s Harriet Fenwick at one end and Fijian International Kelera Nawai likely to be at the other. 2014 Premier 2 runners up Kereru B will meet Marist Albion A. St Nicholas B will meet Lincoln University B.

Winter competition for senior teams starts on the afternoon of April 25. All other grades start 2 May.

The newly rebranded ANZfutureFERNS for years 3 to 5 commences on 7 May, with games on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday. ANZfutureFERNS for years 1 and 2 commence on Sunday 10 May alongside Nettabury netball for preschoolers.
