Coaching & Development Information

Coaching & Development Committee

The Coaching & Development Committee is Lee McKenzie (Convenor), Karen Hill, Lisa Washington, Tania Hoffman,Julie Glen and Michelle Noonan, and is supported by Kirsten Hill, Netball Development Coordinator.

This committee is responsible for player and coach development, the representative programme and associated activities.  Any suggestions for changes, new ideas etc are very welcome. The committee meets on a monthly

basis.

The Coachforce Coordinator works for NNZ working with COACHES to encourage retention, to assist with upskilling and to:

  • Encourage accreditation at all coaching levels
  • Arrange, present and coordinate NNZ coaching accreditation courses
  • Provide updated coaching resources
  • Create produce and promote coaching resources to assist with upskilling and learning
  • Assist with mentoring coaches

New Coaching Website

Netball New Zealand in conjunction with Fisher & Paykel has launched its first ever on-line coaching tool kit www.netballcoachingtoolkit.co.nz.  The Coaching Toolkit is an on-line programme where coaches can go to get activities to develop skills and tactics that are age group specific.

Goalposts dimensions

A Goalpost which shall be vertical and 3.05 m (10 feet) high shall be placed at the mid-point of each Goal Line. A metal ring with an internal diameter of 380 mm (15 inches) shall project horizontally 150 mm (6 inches) from the top of the post, the attachment to allow 150 mm (6 inches) between the post and the near side of the ring. The ring shall be of steel rod 15 mm (5/8 inches) in diameter, fitted with a net, which shall be preferably white, clearly visible and open at both ends.

Both ring and net are part of the Goalpost. Padding used on the Goalpost shall be preferably white and not be more than 50 mm (2 inches) thick and shall start at the base of the Goalpost and extend the full length of the post. 1.2.2 The Goalpost which shall be 65 mm – 100 mm (2.5 inches - 4 inches) in diameter should preferably be inserted into the ground or sleeved beneath the floor. The Goalpost shall be placed so that the back of the Goalpost is at the outside of the Goal Line. Court surround 3 . 05 m  Goal line 15. 25m ( 50ft ) 4. 9m (1 6 f t )
