It's hard to resist not 'sharing' this Facebook post from Kelly 'International Athlete' Hutton this week.
Kelly's post:
4 days after I touched down in Bahrain I played my first game of netball with my awesome new club, Bahrain RFC. 3 days after that I trialled for the Bahrain national squad ....and got in to the A team. Two weeks after that I was honoured when my team voted me Captain.....I hardly even know these ladies! Not bad for a few weeks work to become an 'international athlete' 😜
So tomorrow our Bahrain squad of 4 teams head off to Fujairah (in the UAE) to play in the pinnacle event of the Middle Eastern netball annual calendar, the Inter-Gulf Championship.
I know, I know - how many times can one person retire, how injured is she, why doesnt she just give up etc. I ask myself that every day.... and have already spent a lot of time at the physio 😂😂
But it’s nice to know that when you land in a country where you know NOBODY you can rely on a sport you (used to) love and (used to) be good at, to provide you with access to an amazing bunch of people and instant friendships.
Here’s to the power of sport!
